My best friend has a conference in Vegas next week and I’m going to go join him on Thursday and stay through the weekend. Last time I went to Vegas was two years ago with the Mrs. This is going to be a group of guys which should be interesting.

When I think about how much time I’ve got there sometimes it seems like a lot and sometimes too little. We’ll see how it works out.

I’m not the world’s biggest gambler and generally pick on game that I’m going to focus on while there. Last time it was blackjack with a little craps. Did crappy at Blackjack so I’m not doing that again. This time I’m playing poker. For practice I’ve been playing with fake money at Pokerroom.com. It has a Java client which means it works with my Mac unlike most online poker places.

I’m learning a lot about Texas Hold’em, mainly fold a lot, which isn’t easy. But I’m learning.
