Use of Force to Protect Your Property in Texas

on

The Curmudgeonly Clerk has an interesting post quoting Texas law on when you can use force, including deadly force, to protect your property.

One thing I found interesting and didn’t know was you can use force on someone who is fleeing with your property. I’d always heard you couldn’t shoot someone who wasn’t on your property, which is true unless they just stole something from you and are running away with it.
