Atkins

on

A my wife said this weekend, “If we do Atkins we’ll have done them all.” Well it looks like we’re going to do them all. Started Atkins today. Supposedly a guy can lose 9 to 12 pounds in the first 2 weeks. I’ve at least got to give it that long. If I lost 12 pounds I’d be at the lowest I’ve been since I started BFL a year ago.

The Atkins diet is broken down into phases. The first is called Induction. It lasts for at least 2 weeks and you basically remove all carbs, except a small salad from your diet. No more than 10g carbs per day.

When I did BFL for the first time last year I weighted 207. I got down to 186 in like 16 weeks. Since then I’ve gone up and down, started and stopped. Now I weight 198, which is the highest I’ve been since 207. Hopefully Atkins will burn a lot of that off. I’ll post and let you know how it works.

I’m suppose to workout 5 times a week for at least 45 minutes. Atkins doesn’t tell you what kind of workout that is suppose to be though. Weights? Cardio? I’ll probably be doing cardio. Swimming (which won’t be for 45 minutes) and biking.

Make sure your careful man. I’ve know a few people that didn’t drink enough water and didn’t do vitamins and really screwed themselves up. Kidney and other problems in and out of the Dr for a while. Water water and more water are your friend along with a GOOD multivitamin. Good luck … first sign of issues and dump it. Oh yea, be prepated for other body changes like gas and on some people B.O. … Good Luck!
